  3.                             Version 1.04a
  4.  
  5. This file begins with the most recent changes to HyperView and works
  6. back.  New features are summarized here and documented in the User
  7. Reference Manual (HV.DOC).

  9. 1.04a:
  10. Fixes a subtle bug that occurred when performing (a) a search and tag
  11.   operation, (b) for a phrase, (c) in the forward direction, and
  12.   (d) an occurrence of the phrase in the text spanned more than one
  13.   line.

  15. 1.04:
  16. Searches are even faster than before.  The increased speed will be
  17.   most noticeable on larger files and slower machines.
  18. Gather operations (similar to blocking text in a word processor) may
  19.   be initiated by holding down the shift key and pressing one of the
  20.   cursor keys (Up, Down, PgUp, PgDn, Home or End).
  21. Gathered text and tagged lines may be copied (overwriting the previous
  22.   contents) or appended (added to the end of the previous contents) to
  23.   the OS/2 clipboard or to a file.  Follow the on-screen instructions.
  24. Pressing the backslash key (\) takes you directly to the directory of
  25.   the current file, positioning the cursor bar on the current file.
  26. Added scroll bar to full screen view.  When the right margin setting
  27.   is less then the number of columns in the current video mode, a
  28.   conventional scroll bar is used.  When the right margin setting is
  29.   greater than or equal to the number of columns in the current video
  30.   mode, HyperView uses a virtual scroll bar.
  31. Ctrl-Right and Ctrl-Left scroll the screen right or left 5 columns.
  32. When the screen has been scrolled right, the home key returns the
  33.   screen to the far left.
  34. Exit HyperView from directory listing by pressing Alt-F4 or Alt-X.
  35. Warning added when attempting a clipboard operation that exceeds 64K
  36.   of text. (This is not a limitation of HyperView.  The OS/2 text
  37.   clipboard is limited to 64K of text.)
  38. Fixed disappearing cursor when HyperView is called from shell program.

  40. 1.03:
  41. Added interface with OS/2 clipboard.  Gathered text and tagged lines
  42.   may now be copied to the clipboard.  To enable the clipboard
  43.   feature, the file HVAUX.EXE must be installed in the same directory
  44.   as HV.EXE.
  45. Available commands no longer depend on the active view.  For example,
  46.   searches may now be initiated while in condensed or split screen
  47.   view.
  48. Easier to navigate directories.  Backspace moves to parent directory.
  49.   In addition, after changing to the parent directory, the cursor will
  50.   point to the former parent rather than moving to the top.
  51. Revised default color scheme. (Configurable colors are coming in a
  52.   forthcoming release.)
  53. Revised help screen in anticipation of adding pull-down menus to a
  54.   forthcoming release.
  55. Accelerated process of listing tagged lines to file.
  56. HyperView can now be run when OS/2 is booted from a floppy disk.
  57. Added table recognition to Ami Pro conversion.
  58. Nomenclature change: what used to be referred to as "marked lines" are
  59.   now called "tagged lines".  Same principle, new name.
  60. Fixed bug when display is set for 132 columns

  62. 1.02:
  63. Added file size, date and time to directory listing.
  64. Added capability to view a file in a new HyperView session.  Highlight
  65.   the file you wish to view in the directory listing, then press
  66.   Ctrl-Enter (or F9) to start (spawn) a new session.
  67. Added name of file being viewed to window task list.
  68. Added new command line option to set the number of lines of text on
  69.   screen.  The option takes the form "/Lnn", where nn is a number
  70.   between 25 and 60.
  71. Added new command line option to specify directory and/or file mask
  72.   for opening directory listing.  Instead of typing a file name on the
  73.   command line, type a path.
  74. Isolated carriage return character (ASCII 13) now treated as valid end
  75.   of line character.
  76. Revised prompt strategy for Gather and List dialogs.
  77. Corrected potential bug when reading directory from LAN drive.

  81. Added Files view.  The Files view permits you to pick a file from a
  82.   directory listing.  The directory listing may also be used to
  83.   navigate through the file system.  The Files directory listing is
  84.   automatically invoked if a file is not specified at startup.  See
  85.   README.DOC and HV.DOC for addtional details.

  87. Added option to clear screen on exit from HyperView.  Press Alt-X.
